Solution Overview

Imago OCR is a toolkit for 2D chemical structure image recognition. It contains a GUI program and a command-line utility, as well as a documented API for developers. Imago is completely free and open source, while also available on a commercial basis. The core component of Imago is written from scratch in modern C++. It uses the best-known algorithms for optical recognition, which guarantees Imago’s outstanding portability and performance capabilities.

Can I use Imago in my commercial product?

GPLv3 can be used in commercial products (without the need to open code to Github), but it has some limitation on redistribution binaries (as third-party software) within a distribution package. In other words, one can use it in commercial products on the database side, but when a product is distributed with GPL components, the code should be also opened by GPL terms.

If you need support licensing for the products, or there are any additional features required, EPAM can provide a standard support contract. Price depends on the support requirements and will be defined within an SOW document.

- Added adaptive preliminary filters designed for recognition of low-quality scans or even photos;
- Recognition rate is significantly improved due to usage of highly-adaptive methods instead of strict criterias;
- Restriction constants and recognition parameters are moved into configurable clusters, so the better recognition rate can be achieved on various non-typical image sets using machine learning approach;
- Machine learning tool is embedded in console application, added ability to quickly check recognition rate on specified collection;

- Superatom labels validation logic introduced which greatly increases recognition probability of complex superatom labels;
